National Weather Service - Jackson: Severe weather is likely for most of the outlook area, mainly from later this afternoon through this evening. The greatest threat for significant severe weather will be over northwest portions, in the moderate risk area, where damaging wind gusts of up to 80 mph, large hail up to golf ball size, and strong tornadoes will be possible. Most of the remainder of the area has a risk for damaging winds of 60 to 70 mph, large hail up to golf ball size, and tornadoes.
