Norton Road Bridge Replacement/Closure

NOTICE OF BRIDGE CLOSURE
The Jones County EOC is requesting that local media outlets issue a public service notice concerning the following road closure.
WHAT: Norton Rd will be closed to through traffic, for a bridge replacement project.
WHEN: Beginning Monday, July 14, 2025 the bridge will close at 6:00 am, and remain closed for approximately 100 working days, dependent on weather conditions.
WHERE: Norton Rd 31.642030, -88.984044
Nearest intersecting road: Freedom Rd
Directions: (addresses 597 through 647) Norton Road will only be accessible from the Freedom Rd intersection for the duration of this project.
All other Norton Rd addresses will be accessible from either Township Road @ Forest Road, or from Morris Bankston Road.
