In response to reports of illegal drug activity in the county, on July 9, 2019 a joint effort involving the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Choctaw Police Department, DEA, and Bureau of Indian Affairs conducted an operation to take down a methamphetamine distributor. An undercover agent purchased approximately one pound of the substance in Jones County, which led to a search warrant of a residence in Jasper County.
The execution of the search warrant, in which Jones County Narcotics Division assisted, revealed several illegal firearms and additional illegal drugs. The search resulted in the arrests of Nathan Jones, 32; Ricky D. Arrington, 54; Lisa A. Arrington, 35; and Willie C. Thomas, 55. All are detained at the Jasper County Detention Center. Keyshad D. Arrington, 23, turned himself in to Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and has been transferred to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, where he faces the charge of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
