JONES COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI – Just minutes after midnight on November 29, 2018, Jones County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Bush Dairy Road for a call of man possibly shot.  Deputies arrived to find a male victim outside on the ground, shot multiple times.  Jones County Sheriff’s Office Investigators quickly arrived on the scene, securing the residence of Iesha Crosby, 27, which is located across from the area the victim was found.  A bloody trail led to the home, which was found empty. It was obviously the site of an altercation, with evidence of shots fired.

A full-scale investigation determined Crosby’s identity and location. Crosby stated she was in Hattiesburg at the time of the shooting and was completely unaware any activity had taken place in her home, nor did she know the victim.

As the investigation progressed it was revealed Crosby had “out of the blue” contacted the victim on Facebook Messenger using a fake profile.  During the same initial contact on Facebook, Crosby invited the victim to her home. He sent her his location and she picked him up in Waynesboro, bringing him back to her house on Bush Dairy Road.

After arriving at Crosby’s home, two men came into the room where Crosby and the victim were. An altercation took place and shots were fired. The victim was shot five times, once in the stomach.

Crosby left the home, did not call for assistance and is believed to have lured the victim to her home for an altercation to occur. The investigation continues as two male suspects are being sought.  The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is covering all leads and believes additional arrests are imminent.  The victim has been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Crosby has been taken into custody and charged with Accessory Before The Fact; Assault, Aggravated – Use of Deadly Weapon; 2 counts of Hindering Prosecution Rendering Criminal Assistance and Conspiracy to Commit A Crime.  Her initial appearance is scheduled for December 11, 2018 at 1:00pm at Jones County Justice Court.
