On November 29, 2018, Jones County Sheriff’s Deputies were contacted by the school resource officer at West Jones Middle and High Schools about a 14 year old male (identified by the video surveillance) suspected of damaging windows at the middle school and also had suspicion of the same juvenile damaging the football practice field by doing “donuts” on a large portion of the grassy area.
The deputies met school resource officer Phil Maskew at the residence of the suspect and discovered a black sedan with mud along the sides of the vehicle. They made contact with the juvenile and advised him they had a pick up order on him for vandalizing school property. The juvenile became combative but soon calmed down and was transported to the Jones County Juvenile Detention Center. He is charged with two counts of Malicious Mischief.
