Fourth of July Holiday Weekend Message

07/01/2022

The Jones County Sheriff's Department is wishing Jones County residents an exciting and safe Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Sheriff Joe Berlin notes, "As we celebrate the 4th of July this three day holiday weekend, we remind residents not to drink and drive, to always wear your seatbelt and to be sure and have children in age and weight appropriate child safety seats when traveling."

Sheriff Berlin also advises, "If using fireworks at home be sure and read and follow the manufacturer's usage information and have a water source or fire extinguisher handy in case an unintended fire ignites. If enjoying outdoor swimming or boating activities, be sure and pay close attention to those in the water and have appropriate flotation devices or life jackets available."

Sheriff Berlin concludes, "In the event of an emergency, always dial 911 and Jones County Emergency Operations Center 911 dispatchers can get emergency services providers responding to help. Have a happy and safe Fourth of July from all of us here at the Jones County Sheriff's Department."
