Wanted Sex Offender Captured

Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin is pleased to announce that wanted sex offender Luis Miguel Caraballo has been captured by JCSD and is in custody. Investigator Wesley Waites and Deputy Reagan Smith arrested Caraballo who is charged with Failure To Register As A Sex Offender. Tips from the public led to his quick arrest.
Caraballo is now incarcerated at the Jones County Adult Detention Facility pending his initial appearance in Jones County Justice Court.

The Jones County Sheriff's Department is seeking the whereabouts of Luis Miguel Caraballo (also known as Luis Miguel Morales Caraballo), age 38, on a charge of Failure To Register As A Sex Offender.
Caraballo was convicted in Puerto Rico of Child Abuse and upon moving to Jones County failed to register as a sex offender. Local residents made JCSD aware of his status leading to an investigation by JCSD Investigator Wesley Waites who manages the sex offender registry for the department.
"We are asking anyone with information on Caraballo's whereabouts to contact JCSD at 601-425-3147 or Jones County Crime Stoppers at 601-428-STOP (7867)," notes Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin. "This subject is required to register as a sex offender and has not done so. A warrant for his arrest for Failure To Register As A Sex Offender has been issued and deputies and investigators are actively looking for him.
