Jones County Sheriff’s Department Public Relations Director is Wanda Benson.  She has taken over as Public Relations Director for the Jones County Sheriff’s Department replaceing Shuanita Windham who had served since January 5, 2008.  Wanda has a number of duties which include but are not limited to:

Preparing press releases and makes contact with media who may print or broadcast Department material

Responding to requests for information from the media

Establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with representatives of the community and organizations

Coordinating public appearances and speaking engagements to increase service awareness and promote the goodwill of the department

Delivering speaking engagements to further public relations objectives as it relates to the department

Arranging and coordinating programs such as Neighborhood Watch and Child Identification

Representing the Sheriff's Department at Community Events, Projects and Functions

Planning, Organizing and Conducting Community Activities

Developing ideas for new articles
